MATERNAL MENTAL HEALTH WEEK BEGINS MAY 1
MATERNAL MENTAL HEALTH WEEK BEGINS MAY 1!
May 1 is the first day of Maternal Mental Health Week, a campaign started three years ago by the National Coalition for Maternal Mental Health (NCMMH) to increase awareness of maternal mental illnesses, the most common complication from childbirth.
Last year, NCMMH encouraged individuals to #Askher--ask a mother how she was really feeling--and received many inspiring stories and responses.
This year, NCMMH requests that individuals #connectthedots and join them in raising awareness of maternal mental illness. For the week of May 1-May 7, they request that organizations, communities, and individuals who are invested in maternal mental health commit to retweeting and reposting their materials on maternal mental illness. They also offer a Maternal Mental Health Week toolkit.
